Why do you think more women will be beneficial to the industry?

Globally, the representation of women in the technology field is far less compared to the participation of women in the total workforce. The representation is even worse in the field of Cyber Security where there is a global shortage of skills and experience required to tackle the challenging issues faced by businesses and governments. More women participation in Cyber Security will definitely help address some of the skills shortage.

Furthermore, 50% of my current team is made of females and I value the diversity in thought and approach they bring to the team to solve business problems.

Would you hire women in cyber security in your team, and if so, in which area and why?

I would absolutely hire women in Cyber Security in my team and in any area as long as the candidate has the right skills to perform the role. Personally, I find women to generally have better skills to perform Risk Management, Compliance and Security Awareness and Training however this doesn’t mean they cannot focus on other areas of Cyber Security like Threat monitoring, Forensics, Penetration Testing, etc.
