  • Why did you choose cyber-security - I didn't actually choose cybersecurity, it somehow selected me.  I was actually pursuing a career in the Fashion Industry when I became involved in secure digital messaging for a company out of Silicon Valley. I then became obsessed with the challenges that digital messaging had at the time, the ability to prove who the message was actually coming from and how to secure the content within.  The rest is now history.

  • What do you like the most in cyber-security - The excitement and the challenges it poses.  There is never a dull moment and you are constantly learning new things and challenging yourself on a daily basis.

  • What is the most exciting task in your daily activity – Meeting with clients and addressing their security challenges, finding new and innovative ways to meet and exceed those cybersecurity requirements.

  • Why would you encourage other women to choose cyber security for their career – I believe women are an invaluable asset to this industry.  I have worked with many great men in this field, but woman approach the challenges of cybersecurity in a much different way.  I believe diversity is the key to finding new and more innovative ways to protect the world, it’s people and their data.

Controversial, courageous, and ambitious, this woman has a lot to share with us about her experience, and how she climbed the corporate ladder in security. I chatted with Lisa for hours about life, politics, and technology as well as about how to tackle the challenges in a male-dominated industry.
